Installationsansicht Maksim Klopfstein - On thresholds 2026Café Äther is an experimental, transdisciplinary, and temporary format, a listening bar haunted by visuals and an exhibition cursed by a sonic experience: sound artists meet visual artists for a night. Occasionally, another weekend opens: selected drinks, entire vinyl albums, deep listening.
Wie aus Albträumen und unbekannter Düsterheit entsandt, zeichnen die Arbeiten vonn Maksim Klopfstein dunkle, atmosphärisch dichte Geschichten nach: Storytelling als
feministische Praxis, um starre binäre Systeme aufzubrechen und neue,nmehr-als-menschliche Verbindungen zu denken. Geister, folkloristische Wesen und verstörende Bilder dienen dabei als Wegweiser. Inspiriert von Ökofeminismus, Naturverbundenheit und der Frage, wie wir mit dem Nicht-Menschlichen in Beziehung treten können.
Café Äther ist ein experimentelles, transdisziplinäres und temporäres Format: eine Listening Bar, heimgesucht von Visuals, und eine Ausstellung, verflucht von einem klanglichen Erlebnis. Bewusst bleibt der Text knapp: Im Café Äther kontextualisiert Musik die Kunst und vice versa. Während der Ausstellung begegnen sich Sound- und Visual Artists. Eine Auswahl musikalischer Werke in Form ganzer Alben übernimmt den Raum und verdrängt den klassischen Saaltext.
